Born and raised in central California, José Orosco (born August 6, 1984) known by his stage name Bakon is a Mexican/Native American artist. Growing up in an artistic musical environment he was exposed to street art, hip hop and different genres of music which influenced his style. It started with his passion for the scene at an early age, José knew he wanted to not only appreciate but contribute to the hip hop scene/culture with his own twist and flavor. Stepping foot into the arts, graffiti became his main passion , he found another medium to express his love for the culture when he was introduced to turntables in the 90s. Due to financial struggles it wasn't until 2002 when he purchased his first pair of turntables. From mixing to beat juggling, scratching to entering battles and being a part of Battle Ave Triad breaks record Jose has been deeply involved in the scratch community. In 2015 he was asked to be a part of Asthmafunk Krew joining forces with some of the top scratchers in California. In 2009 Jose became a full time professional tattoo artist and hit the ground running. He has won 2 tattoo awards in 1 year for best lettering category. He specializes in fine line tattooing, lettering and realism. On his down time you can find him making beats, sketching painting or scratching. He enjoys spending time with his family, collecting tattoos and being a student of life. He's a talent on the rise currently working in his own lettering book and first album with his krew (Asthmafunk ).
